Counselling

The Guidance and Counselling Programme assists students with recognising their potential and enhancing their skills. Students are prepared for the challenges they face daily as they gain experiences which will assist them in becoming productive and contributing adults.

The Guidance Programme facilitates a compulsory Health and Family Life Education Curriculum which is “Life Skills-Based.” These skills help students to gain a clear understanding of themselves, their needs, how to make decisions in harmony with acceptable morals, beliefs and values, and the necessary steps involved in making career choices.

The Counselling Programme provides a safe and confidential environment for individuals as well as groups of students who seek or are referred for counselling. Students are assisted in making personal, social, and academic adjustments in their lives. Additionally, students with emotional and behavioural challenges participate in one or more of the following programmes: “Behavioural Modification”, “Supreme Counselling for Personal Enhancement”, and “Unique U”- a self-esteem building programme.

The programme in its entirety aims to build an ideal St. George Secondary School student who is healthy in mind, body and spirit.
